Jamie's Story

Air Force Captain Jamie Brunette took her life on Feb. 9, 2015. Jaime spent eleven years in the Air Force, had been deployed to Afghanistan immediately prior to her separation from the military and had been seeking help from the VA for PTSD. Her friends say she had been traumatized by an apparently unreported sexual assault which happened while she was overseas.  While Captain Brunette left no suicide note and spoke to no one of her assault, her sister, Jackie Leverich, herself having served 18 years in the Coast Guard, said she was well aware of the signs of PTSD, and in her opinion, “Whatever happened to her, she buried it, and I think that is what killed her in the end”

Jamie is a face of Josie, and we dedicate our mission to her.
